Friends

Well, the week is up and we are heading back to Haiti. It was a great week full of food, laughs, family, and friends. We want to say thanks to so many people for feeding us and hanging out with us this week. We really feel refreshed and loved. We have realized how blessed we are to have such a huge support system here in Indiana. We know every time we get together with our bible study group, it is just like family. Even if we haven't been here for 6 months, we can jump right back in with the Jacksons, Altekruses, and Gibbs. We know they will pick us up and take us to the airport (even at 4am), and make us dinner, and sew us cute little hats and bookbags for the kids. And a night out with the Sterleys, Buckzkos, and Doozies will always leave us with a sore side from laughing the next morning. My sister, Kristen, and her husband Brian are not only family... but best friends as well. They feed us, listen to us, and take our kids overnight so we can have some time alone. And a huge thanks to Patty, Gary, and Karen for throwing us a wonderful open house! We were able to see so many friends and supporters that we otherwise would not have had time to see during our short stay in Indiana. As I looked back at these pictures I wished I would have been more vigilant in taking more photos. I was so busy enjoying the food and friends that I often forgot the camera :)  We love you all and can't wait to see you again in 6 months! In the mean time, here are a few of the pics I did remember to take!

The first, and only, picture of Aubree and I both with our hair down and makeup on at the same time!

Isabel spent most of the 6 hour open house in the pool!

Two of my most favorite travel partners- Bob and Pat Pfeifer.

Gary and Pat are showing some outstanding listening skills!

Here's trouble! Patty, Erica, Thomas, Adam, and Susie (eyebrow).

The bestest pseudo-brother-in-law/house-renter ever!

Austin and Linda- congrats the parents-to-be!

Maddie and Lynn- can't wait to see Maddie in Haiti again soon.

Thats right... don't touch my giant bowl of M&M's.

Party-planner-Patty in action
It's Doozie!
Karen and the Thompson clan take a break from the party hosting on the deck.
Having fun...too much fun.

Isabel and her BFF Emma got quite a few playdates in during the week.

Always good to see Jen, Sandy, and Braxton! We have missed you guys.

The kids were so excited to play with their friends and neighbors Cody and Sierra.

Michelle and Troy- caught off guard in the backyard.

One of my favorites times of the week- meeting Callia Jackson!
We are so excited for Sam and Em and the newest member of the family!

She is just precious.

One proud papa!

  1. We love you and we miss you! We hated to have to part with you again, but we are so thankful for what you are doing in Haiti--and here, actually. Telling our boys about the difference you are making is changing our hearts too.
