This morning, at 6:30am, I woke up to the girls dancing around the bedroom and squealing about the snow. Only 3 days before we leave for the year, it snowed! Not a lot. Just enough. The kids have been a little sad to miss winter this year so this last snowfall was a great gift. Of course they wanted to immediately go outside to enjoy the snow. After convincing them that if they wait until after lunch there might be even more snow, they finally stopped begging me to head straight outside.
After lunch the kids could no longer be contained. After scrounging around for 20 minutes finding hats, gloves, snow pants and boots (where available since we didn't buy winter stuff for this year) the kids headed out. Uncle Jonathon stopped by to deliver a few last minute items for the trip and joined in the fun.
After they finished playing, they headed back inside and had some hot chocolate. Isabel was beyond happy and commented how it looked like our house was in a snow globe. Today, we were living in a beautiful snow globe.
