Since returning to Haiti we have been drenched daily with rain. Here on NVM campus, it is a mere inconvenience but just 10 miles away it was deadly last night. As Pastor Pierre was driving by the U.S. Embassy, a flood commenced and washed several cars away. He drove into the waters in the Land Cruiser, with water up to his windows, to help save a women and her baby. Unfortunately people all over the city weren't as lucky and couldn't be saved. The road to the Dominican is washed out completely. Villages are covered in mud and houses have collapsed in the city. We are praying for the rain to stop soon. Around here we are surrounded by mud... lots of it. And the mosquitoes are horrendous! But, it could be worse and we are thankful for that.
This video shows us walking in Chambrun... oh the mud! Can you imagine living surrounded by this amount of mud?!
