Our Castle Moat

In the three months we have been in Haiti it has only rained 4 times. Twice was little more than a sprinkle. Once it rained for a good 15 minutes. The other night it poured! We were in the dining hall eating dinner and a slow, steady rain started. Soon it was raining so hard the sound on the metal roof was deafening. After the rain slowed enough to venture outside we found a moat surrounding our tent. So much rain had come down the moat around our tent was ankle deep. Here is the walkway into our tent area.

Inside the tent we watch "I love Lucy" while trying to stay dry.
Last week Syd helped in the pharmacy. With our dear friend, Dr. Anna, gone back to Austria we lent a hand in the pharmacy to free up Kacie and Aubree to triage patients. Syd had a great time helping to prepare meds and handing out dresses and pencils to the kids that came through.

  2. Ha ha! I love the pic of Syd at the pharmacy! Do we have a future Butler pharmacy student like her Mom? :-)

  3. Shelli--- Your family is amazing. Wow, you even survived through the rain. I probably wouldn't have lasted a week out there, even if it is paradise. Thanks for serving over there and for blessing so many people. Love your blog! KO
