A year ago Kacie Davis decided to come to Haiti to serve for a year as a nurse in the NVM medical clinic. She was the first long term American at NVM... but certainly not the last! She has been a huge inspiration to me over the past year and I am going to miss her so much. She is loving, caring, practical, strong, and beautiful. She has made so many people's lives better here... Haitians and Americans included. Her partner in crime, Aubree, planned and threw a surprise party for her in the village and it was a blast! Our church (Grace Community) team that was here cooked and served over 500 meals to kids and families in Chambrun that day and it was so much fun to see all the blans and Haitians hanging out together. Aubree and Erica put together a 27 minute long video of photos and video for Kacie of her year here that we all cried through later that evening.
We sure are going to miss Kacie... I am just glad Aubree decided to stay another year because if they both left I'm not sure I could survive that!
