Happy Birthday Sydney!

On October 19th, our little Sydney turned 6! We had a fun day of celebration, kicked off with Sydney helping to make her birthday cake. She might have eaten as much of the batter as she did the actual cooked cake! She wanted vanilla cake with vanilla frosting (because Fefe doesn't like chocolate). She has always been one to think of others first.

In the afternoon we headed up to the mountains to open gifts and watch the sunset. Sydney really wanted to go explore this cave up on the mountain but there is really no easy way to get to it and we aren't quite sure how safe it is (or what is in it) so we nixed that idea. But in usual Syd fashion, she had a great time just being her and being at the mountain.

She opened up presents and the kids played a little before watching the sun set. Here is present number one from mom and dad:

Two new shirts- Go Colts!

Present number two from Isabel:

A new fairy Barbie (which Fedlaine promptly broke the following day, but no fear, dad fixed it).

A beautiful sunset, then we headed back to home for dinner. Sydney was greeted with a giant Birthday sign and her choice of dinner (macaroni and cheese, green beans, and pigs in a blanket).

We sang, she blew out her candles then served her cake (Syd loves to help cook and then serve the food).

After dinner we headed to the women's bathhouse for a fun game of Night Bowling. The kids had a blast "bowling" in the dark. We used a basketball for the bowling ball and baby bottles filled with water and glow sticks for the pins. Not to brag, but Syd and I rolled the only strikes of the night!

Nothing else exciting going on around here: everyone came to take part in the action! Who knew the girls' bathhouse was the place to be!?

Happy Birthday Sydlicious! We love you more every single day. You are literally the light in our lives. Your smile is brilliant and your attitude is infectious. Just being in your presence puts a smile on our faces. You face each day with amazing zest for life and each moment is another fun filled one in your world. May God bless you richly in the years to come!
